ORTHOGREEN

GREEN ORTHOTICS

Today, casts or braces are used to support and protect bones and soft tissues that have suffered an injury and in the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies. The production chain of these orthoses involves the use of disposable materials and the production of considerable waste material both in the production phase and in the disposal phase at the end of treatment.

Three-dimensional printing not only reduces energy consumption and waste of raw materials, making the production process absolutely eco-sustainable, but, in the field of usable materials, it is providing increasingly ecological solutions. The project will bring eco-sustainability to the technology developed and patented by MEDERE Srl to obtain a custom-made insole using biodegradable materials. Specifically, OrtoGreen has as its primary objective the creation of an eco-sustainable production process by designing a completely green insole that will revolutionize the production chain of plantar orthoses.
